Amber Strick, owner and trainer at No Excuses, has been a Certified Personal Trainer for over 10 years. She is certified through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, American Fitness Professionals & Associates, Prenatal/Postnatal, together with diet and nutrition. She has experience participating in Figure competitions and competition preparation. She is passionate about health and wellness, yet even more passionate in helping people achieve their ultimate potential. She believes anyone willing to put forth the effort and dedication can achieve their fitness and weight loss goals. With the help of No Excuses anyone can become happier, healthier, and more confident while enabling you to have the body you have always dreamed of. You will deal with Amber personally for most private personal training and bootcamp classes
Chris has trained the US. Army for over 16yrs while being certified trainer from AFAA for over 5yrs. Chris has the experience and the knowledge to assist individuals/groups of all fitness levels to reach their goals of losing weight, adding muscle mass or training at an advance level. Whatever your goal, Chris will make it happen and guide you to proper exercise and eating that supports your fitness goal.
Rainy was introduced to Kundalini Yoga at Golden Bridge in Los Angeles, California. This profound experience lead her to further studies of Hatha Yoga with Shiva Rea and Vinyasa from Jivamukti Yoga. At Yoga Works, she earned her Yoga teaching certification in ISHTA Yoga - the integrated sciences of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda. For seven years she taught throughout New York City, working with elementary students to elders, including young people with Autism and Emotional Disturbances. A life-long dancer, Rainy also teaches Dance at Lindenwood University and loves sharing her passion for movement and meditation with others looking to awaken their mind/body/spirit connection.
Denise is an AFAA certified instructor who also holds qualifications to teach various fitness formats, such as Turbo Kick, Piyo, Zumba® and Zumba® Toning, indoor cycling, and R.I.P.P.E.D. Why so many? ”I believe that there is a fitness class for everyone. You should see which one is the one that makes you feel like exercise isn't a chore. The best exercise is the one you want to do on a regular basis. Also, fitness should be multi-faceted. Doing various types of exercises not only makes you stronger, but prevents injuries due to repetitive stress. I want to be able to provide that.”
Latin music pulses from the stereo as multiple women jump, shimmy and sway to the beat. It's not a dance club-this is a regular exercise class offered by No Excuses. It's called Zumba, and if you're looking for a way to exercise that will help shed pounds, become fit, and have you feeling great, this is it. Part dance, part aerobics, Zumba works almost every muscle in the body.
The classes are lead by Kemi Lucas. She tried here first Zumba class at the Carondelet YMCA. And that's all it took; she's been hooked on the Latin-inspired dance exercise ever since. She quickly became familiar with the moves and was soon receiving numerous compliments from instructors and participants about her natural talent. This motivated her to pursue a Zumba teaching certification; her dream was to be an entrepreneur, and Zumba was fun, enjoyable, and the schedule was flexible enough to work around her family.
She achieved her certification in November 2011, and has been teaching classes since January 2012. She believes Zumba is about having fun and going at your own pace; this reflects an easy to follow moves and her goal of having people enjoy themselves, laughing with her as they move their entire body. Since teaching Zumba, she has seen wonderful flexibility and endurance progression over the course of a few weeks, as well as an increased comfort level with more challenging moves. Outside of teaching Zumba with No Excuses, Kemi also teaches Zumba classes at Mainstreet Gym (St. Charles) and St. Louis Fitness Club (St. Louis.) She also enjoys the wide range of activities St. Louis has to offer, espically outdoor concerts, bands and parks. She is an avid reader consuming many different types of literature
